Each year the Commission gathers nominations from across the state for women who make outstanding contributions to their organizations and communities. The Honorees are nominated by state legislators as a means of recognizing women for their previously unnoted yet valuable community contributions. Please join us in congratulating Janet LaBerge of Pembroke for being named a 2015 Unsung Heroine of Massachusetts! The Unsung Heroines are women who don’t make the news, but make the difference in their communities, businesses, or volunteer endeavors. The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women will honor and celebrate the Unsung Heroines from across the Commonwealth at the 2015 Unsung Heroines Ceremony on Wednesday, June 17 at the Massachusetts State House. The event will be held in the Great Hall from 1-4 p.m. with registration opening at 11:30 a.m. The day will include a speaking program, a collective photo of all Heroines on the Grand Staircase and a Just Desserts.
